Like everyone, I’ve been reading a lot about the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf in general over the past few weeks. We’ve all heard the headline fact that it’s 21NM (39km) wide at its narrowest point, but I wanted to be able to compare its full size; with that in mind, I created this simple web map uses Natural Earth data for the Strait and scales it appropriately when it is moved.
